AME-03: Factors influencing large-scale regional dynamics
Project Overview The goal of the project is to describe the large-scale relationships between the biological patterns and oceanographic processes of the marine ecosystem of the Southern Ocean around eastern Antarctica. Outcomes from this project will be used to develop empirical models relating the dynamics of key components of the marine ecosystem to variation in the physical environment and to help develop large scale models of the Antarctic marine ecosystem. Project Objectives - To characterise and understand the large-scale relationships between the physical environment and the marine ecosystem of eastern Antarctica.
- To develop empirical models relating the distribution and abundance of the key components of the marine ecosystem (e.g., nutrients, primary production, grazers) with the spatial and temporal variability of the physical environment, particularly in eastern Antarctica.
